This list has possibly surprised me more than any other list on this blog. I've been posting some huge lists lately and I thought it would be nice to post a smaller list for a change. How wrong was I. Spain's music scene is much more interesting than I had anticipated. It's true that most of their music is in Spanish and that's probably why their bands are not that well known outside of Spanish speaking countries, but they really do have some great bands and artists down there. There's a variety of excellent indie pop and rock, electro and folk, and even some post-rock and post-punk. The amount of excellent jazz artists also surprised me. This time it felt like I could've just gone on forever adding artists to this list and even if I'm sure I've missed some extraordinary artists from this list, I think this over 120 strong playlist of almost 8 hours is pretty good. Enjoy: Spain.
El Columpio Asesino
This is one of the most impressive modern psychedelic rock bands I've come across. They have a strong similarity to 70's Krautrock bands, but they sing in Spanish and there are some excellent guitar riffs that sound more like 00's indie rock.
The Secret Society
This indie rock band plays classy indie rock, where the instruments sound authentic and the melodies are catchy. I haven't used to hearing Spanish language in this type of dark indie rock. At first it surprises you completely, but after the first shock this band sounds quite amazing.
Los Planetas
If Teenage Fanclub or The Posies sung in Spanish, this is probably what it would sound like. This melodic and sunny indie rock band knows how to make catchy songs. The sounds are quite 90's with authentic sounding sharp electric guitars.
Big Summer
Big Summer makes cool and modern indie rock with some echoes from 90's. The electric guitars are laid back, but still there's some sharpness to them. The laconic and cool vocals are soft and there are even some great vocal harmonies thrown in.
Nudozurdo
This cool indie rock band uses modern studio technology to create dreamlike sound worlds. The instrumentation is quite traditional, but the echoes give this music an eerie feel. Guitars are used mainly as rhythm instruments and vocals and organ sounds are left to make the melodies.
St. Chinarro
St. Chinarro plays sunny and upbeat electric guitars. The band sounds a lot like many other European indie rock bands of the 00's. The picked electric guitars are melodic and very pleasant, while the bass and drums work seamlessly together.
Nacho Vegas
Nacho Vegas seems to be Spain's answer to cool and singer-songwriters such as Jarvis Cocker or Sébastian Tellier. At least that's the impression I get from this laid-back, yet sexy way of singing with whispers.
Grupo De Expertos Solynieve
This indie pop band uses hypnotic and calm sound worlds behind baritone vocals. The melodies are quite uplifting, but if you don't consider it that way, they sound a bit like The National. Organ has a big role in this band.
The Noises
The Noises is a modern type of indie pop band, where the rhythms play a more important role than the melodies. It all starts with wild drumming and the melodic instruments just float over the beats without doing much. The choruses are quite catchy though.
Nothing Places
Nothing Places is a cool and modern indie rock band that uses strange effects on electric guitars and the rhythms remind me of bands like Grizzly Bear. The overall sound is quite psychedelic, even if the hypnosis is made with drums rather than with electric guitars.
The New Raemon
The New Raemon plays indie rock that sounds very Spanish indeed. I think the reason is that their way of pronouncing Spanish is very sharp. There's a strong contrast to English mumbling of lyrics. The electric guitars are played quite skilfully.
Tachenko
Tachenko has cool sounds in their instruments, but the melodies follow quite conventional schlager-like patterns. It's a shame that the melodies are not that interesting, because otherwise the sound is pretty good.
Alberto Montero
This singer-songwriter has adopted the modern and cool sound where the emphasis is given to rhythms rather than to melody. Vocals are very melodic indeed, but the background stays quite minimal focussing on rhythms.
Russian Red
Russian Red plays sunny surf rock, where the female vocals sing in English. The pronunciation is not necessarily that good, but it doesn't matter to me. The voice is very beautiful and the songs are melodic and catchy.
Mercromina
Mercromina plays endearing indie pop with mainly acoustic instruments. It reminds me of 90's Belle & Sebastian. The vocals are almost holding back in their quietness, but the result is quite cute. There are some cool surf guitars on the acoustic carpet of music.
Pájaro Jack
Pájaro Jack plays beautiful and melodic songs with amazingly cool sounds. The electric guitars are mellow and skilfully played, while the bass plays melodic structures backing up the beautiful vocals. Absolutely one of the best artists on this list.
Quique Gonzalez
This is more the kind of music that I was expecting from Spain. The electric guitars resemble Western US guitars and the cool vocals take the main stage. If you like 90's US indie rock, this music might be just by your alley.
Inquiro
Inquiry is quite commercial sounding music, but they actually crowd source their music, so they're quite the opposite. Anyway, the songs are fairly catchy and radio friendly. Sunny and uplifting pop rock.
Invisible Harvey
Invisible Harvey makes beautiful melodies with his excellent and soft vocals. Variety of string instruments play together to create a nice and melodic background for the well-composed songs. Excellent singer-songwriter stuff.
La Bien Querida
This band uses some Americana folk sounds in their music, but the bass and rhythms remind me more of Spain's traditional roots in flamenco and guitar music. The soft female vocals are pleasant to listen to.
Pumuky
Pumuky plays quiet and sad acoustic music. The vocals are quiet and trembling, but in a beautiful way. This band also knows how to raise the sounds from minimal to big in a classy way. They also use some accordion in their songs.
Nosoträsh
This band plays quite conventional singer-songwriter kind of indie pop. The untrained female vocals fit in perfectly with the slightly lo-fi guitars and endearing melodies. The guitars are nice and melodic.
Die Katapult
This is probably the strangest band on this list. German singing Krautrock band that kind of sounds like 70's Kraftwerk and kind of sounds like Joy Division with female singer. There are also some strange horn patterns in the music.
Love of Lesbian
This über-cool band uses influences from 80's new wave and 70's Krautrock to come up with catchy melodies filled with space organ sounds. They used to sing in English, but currently they use Spanish, which probably suits them better.
Insanity Wave
Insanity Wave makes dramatic indie rock with sharp guitars and melancholic melodies. They have some similarities to 90's Britpop bands such as Suede or James. Then again, they guitars also remind me of the Finnish rock n' roll band Hurriganes.
Ivan Ferreiro
Ivan Ferreiro plays calm and hypnotic indie rock where the instruments are mellow and squeezed in together. The vocals are more traditional to Spanish music and the raspy and sharp way of pronouncing of Spanish may be a bit off-putting for a non-Spanish speaker.
Lori Meyers
Lori Meyers plays guitar-driven indie rock with post-punk style bass lines. The vocals are very Spanish. The melodies are quite catchy and the music is fairly danceable. There are similarities to 90's alternative rock scene.
Joana Serrat
Joana Serrat plays beautiful indie pop, where the quickly picked acoustic guitars are met with punchy string instruments and steel guitars. The melodies are beautiful and the soft vocals fit in perfectly. There are also some Americana folk influences.
Ran Ran Ran
This alternative rock band sounds quite folky, but at the same time the sound world has been spiced with buzzing noises and punky rhythms. I guess the closest genre would be folk punk, but it doesn't quite tell the whole story.
Ukulele Clan Band
Ukulele Clan Band uses ukulele in their music. Who would've thought? Anyway, that doesn't tell the whole story, since the overall sound is actually closer to indie pop-rock. The vocals sound a bit like Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.
Cala Vento
Cala Vento plays rhythmic and fast indie rock, where the guitars whine and drums have strange beat changes. The sounds are quite lo-fi in a sense that not very special studio effects have been used. The vocals are trembling and indie.
Francisco Nixon
Francisco Nixon makes very cool and ambitious indie rock. Were the lyrics in English, I'm sure we would've heard about this band outside of Spain. As it is, the melodies are catchy and the attitude is sunny.
Aardvark Asteroid
This kind of typical 00's sounding indie rock band plays disco beats and rhythmic guitars. It sounds quite a lot like Franz Ferdinand. The English has a strong English accent, but I'm not bothered. Electric guitars are the main thing here.
Baywaves
Bay waves plays ambitious and loud indie rock, where the space organ sounds and electric guitars create hypnotic and psychedelic sounds along with unconventional vocal patterns. It kind of sounds like Tame Impala.
Univers
Universe plays fast and industrial sounding indie rock with lots of influences from 80's post-punk and 90's shoegaze. The electric guitars are buzzing and chiming. The drums are struggling a bit to keep in tempo from time to time, but it gives the music nice home made kind of sound.
Luis Brea
Luis Brea plays mellow indie pop with lots of echo. his voice is calm and soft and the main focus shifts towards the interesting chiming and clean electric guitars. The rhythmic section resembles The War on Drugs.
Furguson
Ferguson plays aggressively fast indie rock with growling and shouting vocals. There's a proper punk attitude even if the sounds are more studio-polished and the electric guitars sound like 00's indie rock bands.
El Niño Gusano
This indie rock band plays fast but relaxed songs with laid-back attitude and melodic structure. There are strong similarities to 80's and 90's alternative rock bands from the US. They also use some glockenspiel.
Aliment
Aliment plays fast and punk-like indie rock. The vocals are quite aggressive and the band plays tightly. this is the kind of music that works really well live. They sound a bit like Fucked Up. Good for jumping up and down.
Los Punsetes
Los Punsters plays guitar-driven and fast indie rock where the electric guitars growl and buzz. The female vocals are nothing special, but they fit in well with the style of the music. The use of guitars is quite good.
Chucho
Chute plays guitar-driven indie rock where the drums play fast-tempo beats and guitars have quite a lot of echo. In the background there is also some subtle organ sounds along with melodic solo guitars. The vocals are not that exceptional.
Supersubmarina
Supersubmarina plays classy indie rock with well-produced sounds and melodic songs. They truly know how to make catchy choruses and the guitar riffs go together with subtle organ sounds and skilful vocals.
Los Coronas
Los Coronas plays a strange combination of surf rock, rockabilly and indie rock. The guitars are like from Miserlou. It's mainly instrumental and you can sort of see the link between Spain and the sounds even if this could have been done anywhere else as well.
Pereza
Perez plays uptempo and sunny indie rock where the power chords punch holes in post-punk styled rhythm section. The choruses are quite catchy and the songs are melodic to begin with. Good guitar-playing here.
Polock
Polock is one of the most inventive bands on this list. Their music is quite general disco-beat indie, but they use an innovative array of modern organ sounds and guitar effects to make the sound world more interesting.
El Último Vecino
This band sounds quite modern despite of the fact thither sounds have been completely ripped off from Joy Division. The music is not as dark as Joy Division's, but the high-tone bass lines and echoey guitars and organ sounds are directly from them. The choruses are actually quite catchy.
Havalina
Havana plays fast-tempo indie rock with aggressive guitars on overdrive. The overall sound is quite melodic although the guitar riffs are more rhythmic than melodic. There's a great dynamic between the quiet and the loud bits.
Sidonie
Sidonie makes funky indie rock with buzzing space sounds. The lyrics go in loops and the atmosphere is quite hypnotic and repetitive. The rhythms are very danceable, so the repetitiveness doesn't really matter if you're just looking to dance the night away.
Nueva Vulcano
This indie rock band has pounding rhythms, raspy vocals and electric guitar riffs. I would kind of hope to hear more quiet bits in between though to get a contrast of quiet and loud. The sounds are quite 90's.
Los DelTonos
This rock band sounds cool. Their guitar riffs sound a lot like the ones used in classic rock, but the sounds and the production armour down to earth and more poppy, which makes the music sound more authentic.
Vetusta Morla
This indie rock band uses psychedelic electric guitars on top of fairly conventional riffs. the quieter bits sound a bit cheesy, but when everything is rolling forwards normally, they have a quite pleasant sound.
Triana
Ariana plays progressive rock with some classical Spanish guitar. The weeping electric guitars are a bit cheesy, but it doesn't matter to me. The bass lines are very innovative and the band is playing seamlessly together.
Hinds
Hinds is one of those cool bands that have appeared to indie music charts in the 2010's. Their sounds have some influences from shoegaze and from surf rock. The female vocals are belched out with kind of off-tune style, which makes this music not that approachable.
Triángulo de Amor Bizarro
This post-punk revival band plays loud and big sounds with electric guitars. There's a nice contrast with those huge guitar walls and the quiet and soft female vocals that deep it calm and relaxed. Good for dancing.
Atom Rhumba
Atom Rhumba plays guitar-driven indie rock where the riffs dominate everything else. It's not much about melody, singing or about complex rhythms either. It's about garage-style riffing. The high-pitched vocals are almost a comical add on.
Tokyo Sex Destruction
This band plays funky hard rock. In my opinion, it sounds a bit like grunge and 70's funk had a child. The horn sections are tight and the drums are wild. The choruses are quite catchy. This would probably sound excellent live.
Guadalupe Pista
Guadalupe Pista makes kind of psychedelic stoner rock that has some influences from classic rock n' roll and blues. The electric guitars are sharp and stinging. The vocals have been sung through a buzzing vocoder that highlights the point that this music is all about the guitars.
The Right Ons
This indie rock band has strong roots in garage and blues. it sounds quite a lot like The Black Keys or a modern version of T. Rex. The compositions are carefully made and the sounds are very high quality.
Sex Museum
This band should really sing in Spanish, because their accent in English is incredibly strong. The music itself is quite good. Guitar-heavy psychedelic sounds in what sounds to me like an attempt to mix garage with psychedelia.
Arizona Baby
Arizona Baby is probably more of an indie rock band than a folk band despite the fact that they mainly use acoustic instruments. The acoustic instruments are used in an aggressive way to make it sound more rock n' roll. There are some strong blues influences in the music as well.
Klaus & Kinski
This duo plays Americana folk music with some country-western influences. This said, it's kind of surprising to hear the vocals sing in soft Spanish. The use of fiddle and banjo make it sound very folky.
Hola A Todo El Mundo
This folk band plays beautiful and melodic songs. They use absolutely beautiful vocal harmonies where male and female vocals intertwine. It's all very quiet and relaxed even if the sound has been topped up with hand claps and castanets.
Doble Pletina
Doble Pletina plays uplifting and beautiful folk music. The style of singing is very Spanish which gives the music kind of a strange sound. The instrumentation includes ukulele and it all sounds very delicate and endearing compared to strong vocals. A massive bonus for the use of theremin.
Manel
Manuel plays beautiful and dream-like folk music where the strings and chorals create an otherworldly atmosphere. This magical sound world changes to picked harp phases. To sum it up, this is indie pop music made with classical instruments.
Nacho Vegas & Christina Rosenvinge
I've already mentioned Nacho Vegas in this blog post, but I want to mention his duet with Christina Rosenvinge as well, because the duets of this pair is quite something. Their vocals work brilliantly together over melodic folk songs.
Pajaro Sunrise
Pajaro Sunrise plays beautiful and airy folk music with picked acoustic guitars and clear vocals. The accent in English is quite apparent, but it could still be worse. The melodies are beautiful and the sounds are cute.
Christina Rosenvinge
Now the other half of the aforementioned duet. Christina Rosenvinge makes beautiful and calm folk music with skilfully sung vocals. The choruses are catchy even if the pace of the songs is quite calm and relaxed.
Corizonas
This folky indie band plays more straightforward pop music than most of the indie folk bands out there and even their sounds are a bit bigger than those of an average folk band. There are some strong Americana vibes in the sounds.
Medelia
Medalia makes quiet and beautiful folk music with nice and subtle rock organs. The male and female vocals work seamlessly in unison. The acoustic guitars are quite simple, but the string arrangements improve the sound quite a bit.

Julio de la Rosa
Julio de la Rosa plays melodic indie folk pop with excellent sounds. There's a simple accordion in the background. The simple male vocals work brilliantly even if there's nothing that special about them. The piano runs are quite fun.
McEnroe
This music sounds quite amazing. Deep baritone vocals are accompanied by quiet acoustic guitars and clear and weepy electric guitars. The rhythm section is only there to keep things rolling. The melodies are very beautiful.
Le Mans
Le Mans plays indie rock with quite lo-fi sounds. The sounds are like a simpler version of the first The Smiths albums. The laconic female vocals are not there to impress. They just do what is necessary to get the lyrics out.
Animic
Animic makes creeping and sad indie music where the organ sounds and echoey electric guitars dominate the scene. The vocals are absolutely beautiful in their clear and high tones. This band has a great sense of drama.
Boat Beam
Boat Beam makes mystical indie pop where the conventional band instruments have been accompanied by beautiful and stingy strings that punch more than they weep. The rhythmic approach to dream pop kind of describes the atmosphere.
Wind Atlas
Wind Atlas makes absolutely beautiful music with echoey guitars and otherworldly vocal harmonies that resemble church choirs. There's something shamanic in the sounds and the songs have very hypnotic qualities.
Bigott
Bigott plays indie pop with surf rock sounds. There are strong influences from 60's psychedelia as well that are also visible in the album cover. The sounds are excellent even if they haven't been fully polished.
Surfin' Bichos
As the name suggests, this band has some influences from surf rock. Especially when it comes to rhythms and drumming. Otherwise the sound is a bit rougher resembling garage rock. The melodic compositions point otherwise though.
Cola Jet Set
Cola Jet Set plays bubblegummy indie pop with echoes of 60's hippy pop. The sound is actually quite similar to some of the Japanese pop groups for some reason. The sounds are quite authentic, yet a bit cheesy.
Band À Part
This band plays melodic indie rock with simple but beautiful sounds. The soft acoustic guitars are accompanied by clean electric guitars, melodic bass lines and soft organ sounds. The soft female vocals remind me of Belle & Sebastian.
Kokoshca
This indie rock band uses American Western type of electric guitars over lazily overdriven guitars. There are some sound influences from surf rock. The song compositions are quite conventional and not very surprising.
Manos de Topo
Manos de Topo plays strange and crazy indie rock where the ominously creeping electric guitars pound sharply while the trembling and incredibly indie vocals sing in a weeping style. Some of the guitar work is very good.
El Canto del Loco
El Canto del Loco plays quite commercial rock music where acoustic instruments are put together with electric band instruments. The band is not maybe the most innovative band out there, but their songs sound good nevertheless.
Shinkiro
Chinkier plays echoey and inventive indie rock with strange and psychedelic guitars and hippy rhythms. It kind of reminds me of such bands as Tame Impala or Temples. This is the new wave of psychedelic rock.
La Habitación Roja
This indie rock band uses huge guitar walls in a similar way as some of the post-rock bands. The vocals still have a big part to play in the music and the structures are more pop oriented. The sounds are very big and the melodies have great emotions.
PacoSan
PacoSan plays psychedelic rock music with strange space sounds and shrill indie style vocals. The riffs and solos sound original and the songs have a lot of room to grow. The guitar effects are very interesting.
My Expansive Awareness
This psychedelic rock band uses echoey and beautiful guitar sounds. The vocals are very unconventional and they have been sung through a strange vocoder. This is proper stoner rock with relaxed tempo.
Carontte
Charente plays beautiful chiming guitars. There are strong similarities to 00's most famous post-rock bands such as Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai. This band knows how to grow from minimal to huge quite brilliantly.
Esperit!
Esperit is kind of an indie rock band but also kind of a post rock band as well. The rhythms are very clear, but the electric guitars have strange sounds and the music seems to be mainly instrumental. The sounds are probably the best thing about this band.
Toundra
Toundra is an amazing post-rock band that uses scary and clear electric guitars that every now and then turn into massive overdriven guitar walls. They have long songs that grow intensely from minimalist sounds to a proper storm.
Viva Belgrado
The sound of this band might be a tad too rough for some people out there. Their vocals are growled out loudly in a style of death metal. The music however is closer to melodic post-rock bands like Mogwai.
Autumn Comets
Autumn Comets plays indie rock where the instruments take the main stage over the vocals. it sounds a lot like post-rock even if there are more conventional song structures with lyrics. The sounds are quite incredible.
Redthread
Rethread plays scary and ominous music where the electric guitars and spacey organ sounds grow the music from quietness to loud. Everything is spiced up by dreamy and hypnotic female vocals that sing lasting notes.
Standstill
Standstill sounds quite melancholic with its sad tunes. They know how to make beautiful and quiet music, but also how to really get things going with electric guitars. There are some similarities to progressive rock.
Facto Delafe y las flores azules
This is one of the most original sounding bands on this list. Their quiet songs sound a lot like 90's trip-hop bands from Bristol, but there are also some very beautiful and melodic vocals in between. There's also some rapping with a soft male Spanish voice.
Paloma Berganza
This jazz singer sings in French. The songs are absolutely beautiful. It's the kind of old time jazz that does not play around much, but shows such beautiful notes that it makes me almost weep. I can picture a cellar bar with red wine and smoke while listening to this.
Diego Amador
Diego Amador plays classy modern jazz with strong emphasis on piano. There are some traditional Spanish rhythms used in the background and the melodic structures also show that flamenco is one of the main influences.
Alex Conde
Alex Conde plays beautiful and innovative jazz with absolutely amazing piano playing. Just as you start to think that this is easygoing salon jazz, some rhythmic structures surprise you completely. It's great music for both traditional and modern jazz lovers.
Alex Conde Carrasco
I decided also to present the above artist's band here, because the band plays somewhat different music. There are strong influences from traditional Spanish music here with castanets and flamenco style guitars.
Albert Bover Trio
Albert Bover makes amazing jazz music with strong similarities to 50's and 60's jazz masters such as Charles Mingus or Cannonball Adderley. The bass is absolutely fantastic along with innovative drumming and piano.
Alexis Cuadrado
Now, here's one great jazz bassist. His songs really show that he as a bass player is the band leader. There are also some great saxophones and drumming, but the bass lines are absolutely astonishing. I enjoy the parts where he just plays by himself the most.
Chano Dominiguez
Chano Dominiguez also takes some influences from Spain's traditional music history and uses claps and flamenco style rhythms in his music. The piano and bass sound incredible together and the drummer is also quite something.
Ignasi Terraza Trio
This band shows some of the best trumpet playing I've heard from anyone in a while. This jazz band sounds quite modern while still sharply looking into the golden age of jazz (at least according to me it's the turn of the 50's and 60's).
Augustí Fernández
This jazz player's music is quite minimalistic and artsy. There aren't that many piano notes in there and sometimes there are loop-like riffs that repeat themselves, but then again every single sound matter.
José Luis Gámez
This jazz guitarist makes excellent jazz music, but as the case usually is with guitar jazz it sounds bit cheesy from time to time. It's not necessarily the guitar, but the organ sounds that give me this impression though.
Pedro Iturralde
Pedro Iturralde is an amazing saxophone and clarinet player that makes old-school jazz with fast tempos. The Quartet that he's a part of is very good altogether. The drums and bass sound quite phenomenal.
Baldo Martínez
Baldo Martínez is a jazz bassist who makes kind of modern jazz with some familiar elements from the 60's free jazz movement. The saxophones soar experimentally above it all while the bass keeps it all together.
David Mengual
David Mengual plays mainly in big bands that make quite conventional jazz music but the players are astonishingly good and it's very pleasing to hear the individual talents within the band play their solos.
Tete Montoliu
Tete Montoliu makes easygoing and hypnotic kind of jazz where piano and bass dominate the sound world while the drums are left keeping the rhythm together with subtle and quiet sounds. It's all very relaxing yet talented.
Oscar Peñas
This jazz guitarist makes quite simple and minimalistic sounding jazz music. The fretless bass makes beautiful sounds with the violin while the guitar plays the melodies. This is quite modern jazz and sometimes the sounds actually remind me of Radiohead for some reason.
Las Migas
Las Migas is a modern flamenco band where the melodies and style are very traditionally in Spanish flamenco, but there are more modern sounds in the mix. There are also some melodic structures that resemble gypsy music.
Ojos de Brujo
Ojos de Brujo makes classy modern flamenco music where along with the traditional instruments they have used for example vinyl scratching to make rhythms. The vocals are very pleasing and the guitars are skilfully played.
Pop Tops
Pop Tops make amazingly groovy 60's kind of hippy rhythm & blues. The melancholic melodies are quite amazingly done. This definitely sounds like something that should be on every Flower Power collection out there.
Muchachito Bombo Infierno
This band takes influences from traditional Spanish music but actually ends up sounding a bit more like Latin American music from such places as Cuba or Brazil. There are some samba rhythms in there. The sounds are very pleasant.
Los Bravos
Los Bravos is one of the very few non-English bands who had a world wide hit in the 60's. Their song Black Is Black was known throughout the world. Their sounds are very typical of the early 60's pop. They pronounce English astonishingly good considering where they came from and when.
La Monja Enana
This indie electro band makes compositions like any other poppy indie band really, but their sounds are incredibly strange and cheesy. Maybe that's why it reminds me of far-east Asia bands. The melodies are good though.
Astrud
Astrud makes progressive rock with space-like sounds that buzz and beep all over. The overall sound is quite modern even if the music and the compositions really resemble those progrock bands of the 70's.
Delorean
This band is a bit too pop for my usual taste, but I thought that I should include them, because they seem to be good at what they're doing. There are similarities to bands such as Cut Copy. It's very good for dancing.
We Are Stranded
We Are Stranded makes modern disco music where the disco beats are accompanied by more modern electric guitars with a variety of effects and there are some space sounds on top of it all. Some of the hypnotic loops sound great.
Zombie Kids
This band plays proper disco and funk music. Despite the childish album cover and the name of the band, I think this band can actually be taken seriously as an excellent band to dance to. It's very commercial, but in a good way.
Fasenuova
This is probably the strangest band on this list. They make lo-fi electronic music that somehow resemble 80's new wave, but the production sounds kind of cheap, while it's quite cool at the same time.
Inspira
This band sounds a lot like many bands in Scandinavia at the turn of the millennium where indie rock songs have been spiced up with electronic beats and space sounds. The laconic vocals on top make this kind of funky music very cool.
Heroes Del Silencio
What better way to end this list than with a cheesy 80's rock band. Their echoey guitar sounds sound like many new wave bands of the 80's, but the melodies are quite commercial and the over the top vocals are actually quite intriguing.
